Come join Half Moon Bay Yacht club for a fun, casual afternoon celebrating sailing with sailboat rides, hands on boat maintenance and repair, knot tying practice, and celestial navigation with sextant demonstration on June 25, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm at the beautiful Half Moon Bay Yacht Club on the shores of Pillar Point Harbor, a part of Half Moon Bay, in the mighty Pacific Ocean. Planned schedule is:
1-2ishpm Hands on in club boat yard helping to restore a Cal 20 sailboat and practice fiberglassing and other boat maintenance and repair
2ish-5pm - Sail boat rides
2ish -5pm - Talk to an experienced sailor at dock about sailboat parts, rigging, and sailing vocabulary
2-3ishpm Meet an astrophysicist and talk celestial navigation while trying out a sextant
3-4:30ish Knot tying practice
