"Smoke and Roses" sails beneath spectacular sunsets in Charlotte Harbor, FL

With sails reefed and a close eye on the radar, sailing vessel “Smoke and Roses“ headed into Charlotte Harbor, Florida to do a half day charter on the day of Summer Sailstice. The stormy skies added some relief to the heat and “with just one couple doing a private charter, it hardly seemed like work!” says owners Dan and Agnes. The couple are currently offering sailing charters with their 47’ Leopard  catamaran in order to afford upgrades to their vessel and eventually go cruising.

Says Dan and Agnes: “once the dock lines were released from our home port, we motored a short distance thru a canal lined with majestic homes.  Upon exiting the last channel markers of the shallow entrance, we were in Charlotte Harbor. With over 200 square miles of cruising area, protection on all sides and sunny skies year around, it is a sailing paradise. Next we raised the sails, killed the engines and began to truly unplug. Our guests took pleasure in relaxing on the spacious, smooth sailing catamaran. They also enjoyed watching a variety of birds, fish and the occasional bottlenose dolphin. We were fortunate to skirt all the storms and the cruise ended with an incredible sunset.”
