Sail the Bay on Summer Sailstice

Here are some great bay-sailing celebrations you can join in San Francisco's Bay Area for this year's Summer Sailstice. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a first-timer there's an event for you. All you need to do is Sign up or Renew your Summer Sailstice registration (remember you have to log back in each year to be included in the prize drawing) and RSVP to one of these fun events. Or if you prefer, create your own event and invite your family, friends, club members, your pets... anyone you want!

But if you prefer to sail solo then please do. You can sail anywhere, in any way, and aboard any sailing vessel you have or can get aboard. Honestly, you could even be sitting on a chair watching your boat's paint dry - as long as it's sailing related you can officially join the global celebration.

Take a look -

Call of the Sea's 82' schooner, Seaward is inviting the public to enjoy a free 2-hour sail. Call of the Sea is a nonprofit organization supporting on-the-water environmental education hosting field trips for K-12 classes from around the Bay Area and beyond. Get on board for a great sailing experience and while you're there learn more about how you can support this great organization and its programs.

Call of the Sea is has also signed up its newly built tallship, Matthew Turner. While Matthew Turner isn't quite ready to lay out her gangplank for visitors on Summer Sailstice, she will be celebrating by having finishing touches applied at the hands of her crew of engineers and volunteers. And if you're heading out on Seaward, you'll walk right by Matthew Turner!

With parties, events and support from Marinas, Harbors, Restaurants and other organizations throughout the region you can sail in or out at any time and any location. So why not make the Delta Doo Dah your Summer Sailstice plan, and Summer Sailstice a part of your Delta Doo Dah fun...
