The Ninnescah Sailing Association is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary as a club this year. We kicked off the celebration with our Annual Blessing of the Fleet with over 100 attendees.  The celebration began in our clubhouse, the AfterDeck, with a talk from the three pastors and priests that are members about the history of the blessing ritual.  There was then a time for any member to call out the name or names of former members who had passed on.  As each name was called a single toll of a bell was given.  After prayer, the pastors were taken out in the cove by boat where they blessed each boat as they motored or sailed by.  After a nice sail, everyone returned to the AfterDeck for a nice wine and appetizer social to celebrate the 50th anniversary.  A good time was had by all.

Ninnescah Sailing Association (NSA) is a non-profit, open-membership, sailing organization located west of Wichita, Kansas on the west shore of Cheney Reservoir. Members believe they have the best sailing organization in the Midwest — a lot of good wind, beautiful facilities, and great people who love to sail and have fun. Made up of novice to experienced sailors, and day-sailors to racers of all ages, occupations, and backgrounds, this sailing community boasts an active membership of more than 200 people.
