Are you Restoring an Old Sailboat?

Are you Restoring an Old Sailboat?

Here's our first entry for the 2019 Restore an Old Sailboat Contest!

Jason Sigmundstad from Fort Peck Sailing Club, Montana is working on a 1964 Wesco Marine Victory 21 that hasn't been registered since 1988. Jason and his willing helpers are giving new life to this old bulb-keel boat.

And although the restorations only began just before last winter set in, Jason is hoping to have his boat ready to sail for Summer Sailstice 2019!

'I bought it from an Estate Sale last September of 2018. I lived across the street from it for several years but the owner never wanted to sell it. So far we've removed all the rigging from her and started stripping a couple layers of paint and the original gold anodizing from the boom & mast.'

'Once the snow thaws were gonna start sanding & painting top to bottom.'

If the young man in the photo is as enthusiastic about helping as he appears to be, the boat should be finished in no time!

And then she'll just need a name.
