The stars align perfectly in 2018: the same weekend as Summer Sailstice, Master Mariners Benevolent Association (MMBA) will celebrate their 150th anniversary at their 25th annual Wooden Boat Show at the Corinthian YC in Tiburon.

On Saturday June 23, Summer Sailstice, around 40 classic yachts and wooden boats of all sorts and sizes will sail from all over the SF Bay and arrive leisurely at the Corinthian's docks. After tying up, MMBA members will enjoy an afternoon prettying up their boats for the show visitors on Sunday. Rarely are all these beautiful boats in the same place for a feast for the eyes like this.

On Sunday June 24, the public is invited to feast their eyes, and, even better, step on board and inside each boat in this diverse collection of bespoke boats, each one loved and beautifully maintained.

You'll be sure to find a boat to love and dream about.

Alma, a scow schooner built at Hunters Point in 1891, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1988 and is part of the fleet at SF Maritime NHP.

Freda, a classic late 19th century gaff rigged sloop, built in Belvedere in 1885, was Corinthian's flagship boat for 23 years, but in 2005 was rescued after years of neglect, to be restored by Arques School of Traditional Boat Building (Bob Darr), to her current impeccable condition.

Encore, a Concordia yawl, and Water Witch, an exquisitely restored 1928 Lester Stone cutter, will also make their appearances.

Also planned are live music by the SF Feetwarmers Jazz Band, model boat building for children by the Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding, and food & beverages available for purchase from the Corinthian's outdoor Pelican Grill.

The Wooden Boat Show is the annual fund raising event for the Master Mariners Benevolent Foundation (MMBF) which sponsors activities such as introducing youth to traditional sailing vessels and traditional maritime skills.
