MUSKEGON, MI -- Experienced and novice sailors alike will take to the waters around Muskegon on Saturday, June 22 as part of the 13th annual Summer Sailstice.
The Summer Sailstice is a worldwide event held in celebration of sailing. Celebrations are scheduled to take place in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, but Saturday’s event in Muskegon is one of just four official events in the state of Michigan.
As part of the event, Torresen Marine and the Muskegon Yacht Club will offer free sailboat rides to the public.
“We want people to see something that makes Muskegon naturally beautiful,” said Judi Shedd, Officer Manager at Torresen Marine. “We’re so lucky to have Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan.”
