I grew up sailing on Casco Bay on the coast of Maine. We had a styrofoam Snark and my grandfather had a Rhodes 19. My brother and I then got a Turnabout and then moved up to a 420. Since then I've raced and cruised on the East Coast, West Coast, Caribbean and Mediterranean.
Now my family owns the Ranger 33 'Summer Sailstice' named after we started this event in 2001! We're planning the San Francisco Bay Summer Sailstice 2016 with the Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda. All sailors in the area are invited to sail in and celebrate at EYC. Encinal Yacht Club is a great yacht club w/pool for the kids, dinghy sailing, sailboat rides, music on stage - always a great place to celebrate sailing.
