Cortez Yacht Club will begin the weekend with a history tour by boat on the Manatee River hosted by Manatee Riverside Tour Company. The tour boat leaves Regatta Pointe Marina at 9:30 with first stop being the De Soto National Memorial anchorage to pick-up passengers from boats moored there for Cortez Yacht Club weekend Sailstice Raft-up! The history tour/river cruise is open to the public but seating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance online at http://www.riversidetoursinc.com/index.html
Cortez Yacht Club sailboats will join the Manatee Sailing Association sailors and boaters from Manatee Sail & Power Squadron for a weekend raft-up in our favorite Manatee River anchorage near the memorial cross at De Soto National Park in Bradenton FL (27°31'21.2"N 82°38'27.5"W). Boaters who would like to board the tour boat on Saturday morning from the anchorage will need to make arrangements online at http://www.riversidetoursinc.com/index.html. All other raft-up activities will be discussed throughout the weekend in real time via VHF channel 72.
Please plan to share food and beverages in the anchorage Saturday from 5:00 on, leading into our sunset celebration. Bring your conch shell! :)
