A parade of new and beautiful boats will fill the waters of Portland next week to celebrate sailing and the new sport of boat sharing.  It’s all part of Sailtime’s Boat Sharing Expo on Saturday, June 18 -the 16th annual Summer “SAIL”stice, a worldwide celebration of sailing and the summer solstice.

WHO:    SailTime of Portland

WHAT:  A full day of fun including tours of new model yachts and sailboats.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to register for American Sailing Association certified lessons, boat chartering, membership and ownership opportunities.

WHERE:  260 NE Tomahawk Island Drive, Portland, OR 97217

WHEN: Saturday, June 18th from 11 AM until 1 PM

WHY:  Scheduled in conjunction with Sailstice, the worldwide celebration of sailing, SailTime’s Fractional Sailing Expo gives locals the opportunity to learn what’s new in the marine industry’s bustling sharing economy.

Why is boat sharing booming?

For boat enthusiasts:

Boat ownership is expensive and believe it or not boat owners are not typically wealthy. The National Marine Manufacturers Association reports more than 70 percent of U.S. boat owners earning less than $100,000 dollars a year.

With a fee that starts at only a few hundred dollars a month, SailTime members can conveniently schedule blocks of time online to enjoy a new model sail or powerboat without the commitment or expense of ownership. When finished, they turn the keys over to the SailTime team to clean up and maintain the boat.

For boat owners:

Join the SailTime fleet to share your boat and make money without the hassle of taking care of it. A certified professional handles the vessel's upkeep and maintenance.

Owners don't even have to deal with the hassle of finding boat sharers. SailTime takes care of all that. The boat that would otherwise be sitting idle, now provides a revenue stream.

For the public: To RSVP for a free demo sail on June 18th, visit https://sailtime.com/portland/summer-sailstice/. Space is limited
