US Sailing is the national governing body for sailing. Our network of schools provide the Gold Standard in sailing education to our students. We offer training and education programs for instructors and race officials, support a wide range of sailing organizations and communities, issue offshore rating certificates, and provide administration and oversight of competitive sailing across the country, including National Championships and the US Sailing Team.

Why Do You Love Sailing?

US Sailing supports a broad spectrum of sailing activities, ranging from casual recreation to high-level international competition. All of our certified instructors and officials are SafeSport Trained, to recognize and prevent abuse in sport.

For first-time sailors, sailing is the perfect activity for anyone who enjoys water sports and outdoor recreation. Sailing can be relaxing or exciting. You can take a leisurely sail with family and friends or get a start in racing. Regardless of age, ability or limitation, sailing has something for everyone. First Sail providers ensure that they will experience sailing with knowledgeable sailors who follow national guidelines and use a suggested nationwide curriculum. Find a First Sail Location
