Tales from the Western Canada Jeanneau Rendezvous

Tales from the Western Canada Jeanneau Rendezvous

We had a record attendees at our Jeanneau Rendezvous with 35 boats and 102 people. We were blessed with perfect sailing weather on Saturday and had lots of boats our sailing around the course with many extra crew members poached from the boats that choose to stay at the dock. Some our newer owners were sailing with more experienced sailors in an effort to pick up some tips to aid their own sailing. Ian Fraser was manning the start and finish line and was ably assisted by a crowd of spectators on the dock who were watching and cheering.

We had 5-8 knot breeze blowing and this enabled lots of assymetrics and spinnakers to get an airing, and also some swimming for one when a shackle came undone??? and it fell straight in the water. The culprit was sent up the mast to repair and they were off again.

Our Western Canada Jeanneau Rendezvous/Summer Sailstice was won by "SATU" a Sunfast 37 owned by Richard Poole with the winning margin being under a minute, and was presented with a very fine bottle of wine from our sponsor Navis Marine Insurance.

 Race winner: "SATU"

Fraser Yacht Sales is very proud to be involved with the Summer Sailstice and will be definitely participating next year with our fingers crossed for the same weather.

Til next year,
