A lazy weekend exploration of the Magothy River, including a raft-up and a night at the Magothy Marina. Relatively short distances allow for plenty of sailing or, if the wind is not in our favor, more time at anchor for swimming and socializing. All boats on Sailing Club trips are staffed by our qualified skippers and first mates.
We'll board chartered sailboats in Rock Hall, Maryland on Friday evening, June 22. On Saturday we'll sail across the Chesapeake Bay and into the Magothy River. We'll anchor for the night and raft up the boats for dinner and games. We'll have Mexican Train, Cards Against Humanity, Farkle, and a few others, or you can bring your favorite to challenge your crewmates. There will be prizes. There will be drinks. It will be fun. On Sunday we'll break up the raft and sail wherever the wind takes us -- on the river or back out in the bay. We'll end the afternoon in guest slips at the Magothy Marina. We'll barbeque using the marina's facilities and do some more gaming or just socialize after dinner. Monday we sail back down the river and across the bay, returning the boats to Haven Harbour in Rock Hall.
The price for this weekend has not yet been set, but will include boat charter and slip fees. Other boat expenses including food, fuel, and pump-out will be divided among the crew of each boat. Two boats are expected, but more or less could sail depending on participation.

IMPORTANT: Reservation with The Sailing Club in advance is absolutely required. Reigstering on the Summer Sailstice website does not count and will not reserve a space on this trip. If you do register on the Summer Sailstice website, we will contact you with the information you need to actually register for the trip (hint, follow the link in the previous paragraph). If you show up at the marina on June 22 without having first reserved through The Sailing Club and paid, you will not be boarding a boat and you will have driven to Rock Hall for nothing. Membership in The Sailing Club is required for participation in any of its sailing events and can be paid at the time of reservation. It's not expensive. You can do it. Really.
The Sailing Club is a New Jersey-based organiztion that runs bareboat charter sailing trips. We regularly sail on the Chesapeake Bay, Long Island Sound, and other locations world wide. Whether you are already a sailor, have never been on a boat before, or are someplace in between, The Sailing Club is a great place to make new friends, have a fun time doing it, and hone your skills.
