On Saturday 17th, boats sail in the Rally from DIYC to Tampa's Sail Pavilion Bar downtown waterfront.  Preceding the Rally, we are hosting a "crew mixer" at the downstairs Regatta Bar to introduce boat skippers to prospective crew.

We can't believe that another year has past and it is time again for the annual Summer Sailstice event coming up soon! We hope you can join us for a fun filled weekend on the water. 

I plan to join my fellow club members at the Ninnescah Sailing Association at Cheney Lake, KS for a group sail to celebrate the Sailstice 2017.

The Gulfstream Sailing Club is making its annual cruise to Stiltsville on June 24 - 25. Members can sail from Fort Lauderdale to Stiltsville, which is a group of houses on stilts about a mile offshore from Miami. Last year, we had eight sailboats docked their overnight.

The Twin Cities Saililng Club, a community sailing club that promotes the sport of sailing and is based on lovely Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will be hosting a Summer Sailstice event on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

Be part of the 2nd annual Schroon Lake, NY Hobie Cat Regatta, June 16-18, 2017.  Schroon Lake is a beautiful location nestled in the Adirondack Mountains of NY State.  The pristine waters and views are spectacular.  The racing will be fun and competitive.  This will be a Hobie Cat point regatta.

The Sailing Club, Inc. at www.thesailingclub.org  will be skippering two sailboats out of Haven Harbor Marina June 24-26, 2017.   Saturday night will be in an anchorage in a quiet cove and Sunday night will be in Port Annapolis Marina.

We are planning to enjoy a wonderful sail on our Catalina 320, Mas Takeela, across Lake Michigan with family and friends in the Queen's Cup Race from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to South Haven, Michigan.   The race starts on the 23rd of June, sails overnight, and finishes sometime on the 24th of June--

Port Ludlow back bay is a club favorite in June. Hosted by Milltown Sailing from Port of Everett. This is an anchor out raft up event in the secluded back bay of Port Ludlow just West of the entrance to Hood Canal.

Celebrate a week of Landsailing on the dry lake bed playa of Smith Creek near Austin Nevada. Come for the week or just for a day. We will be camping out on the lake bed so bring your RV, tent or stay in a local  hotel in Austin, Nevada. This is not a race but a rally.

I'll be daysailing my C&C 24, Rosie on Saturday the 24th and racing in our Santa Cruz Yacht Club SCORE race on Sunday the 25th on Monterrey Bay.

Hopefully I will get my Hobie Tandem Island to replace my Adventure Island which was lost to a fire and will be sailing in Lac-Simon, Québec that weekend!

For over 60 years The Lake Merritt Sailing Club has hosted the Mayor's Cup Regatta on Oakland's Lake Merritt.  It is open to juniors and seniors.  There will be a fleet of El Toros and Sunfish.  All other dinghies are welcome.  Seperate starts for each class with 3

SUMMER SAILSTICE EVENT HOSTED BY THE SAILING FLEETS AT SAN DIEGO YACHT CLUB

Everyone is invited, get on a boat, and get out on the water and sail on Saturday June 24. Anyone can join this event, as long as you get on the water!

Summer Sailstice happens to fall during our Flying Scot North American Championships this year. While the competition at this regatta is going to be stacked. We are hoping to get around 100 boats, of varying skill level, to race in either our Championship or Presidents fleet.

I will be headed out of the Forked River and sailing up the Barnegat Bay with a stop at Tices Shoal at some point for lunch and a swim. Hoping to get a few other boats to join in to celebrate Summer! 

This year, on Sunday, I will be helping with my volunteer-run sailing club's open house.  That's when we offer free dinghy and keelboat rides to introduce people to sailing on San Francisco bay.  If you know anyone who would like to learn how to sail, send them down for an open house or to

Last year our gathering of 62 boats was the biggest raftup in the Bay Area for at least the past 30 years.

This year, we're not going for necessarily any bigger but definitely better and more fun.

Currently SV BOLERO is in Tampa Bay. (but that could change...depending on this springs trip to Havana Cuba...)

We'll be crossing the Pacific this March/April and hope to be basking on some South Pacific atoll come Summer Sailstice. We always celebrate winter and summer solstice in our family, one of our traditions is to make origami boats and float them off to sea.

This summer Muncie Sailing Club is coordinating with Ball State University Out Door Pursuits to offer a day of introduction to Sailing to the Community. Muncie Sailing Club and Outdoor Pursuits has been introducing Sailing to adults for three years.

On June 24th, we plan to have a cruise of Webster Lake launching from the Webster Sailing Association.  A cookout will follow the cruise.  On June 25th, we plan to have an open race with an informal get together after.

We will be watching our daughters compete in the America's Cup Endeavor Hobie Wave Junior Championships in Bermuda.
