Summer Sailstice happens to fall during our Flying Scot North American Championships this year. While the competition at this regatta is going to be stacked. We are hoping to get around 100 boats, of varying skill level, to race in either our Championship or Presidents fleet.
I will be headed out of the Forked River and sailing up the Barnegat Bay with a stop at Tices Shoal at some point for lunch and a swim. Hoping to get a few other boats to join in to celebrate Summer!
Last year our gathering of 62 boats was the biggest raftup in the Bay Area for at least the past 30 years.
This year, we're not going for necessarily any bigger but definitely better and more fun.

This summer Muncie Sailing Club is coordinating with Ball State University Out Door Pursuits to offer a day of introduction to Sailing to the Community. Muncie Sailing Club and Outdoor Pursuits has been introducing Sailing to adults for three years.

On June 24th, we plan to have a cruise of Webster Lake launching from the Webster Sailing Association. A cookout will follow the cruise. On June 25th, we plan to have an open race with an informal get together after.

Learning to sail is easy and fun! Ninnescah Sailing Association offers learn-to-sail programs for members and non-members of all ages that are informative and fun.
Having sold the bigboat I am now looking at acquiring a Class boat from Europe ie; H Boat and to do lots of final days sailing the Magothy River, Chesapeake Bay day sails with the Summer Sailstice being one.

After three years of dropping water levels in Utah Lake, the winter of 2017 is on track to set new mountain snow pack record depths. Hydrologists are already predicting flooding, depending on how spring temperatures rise. Statewide, all of our reservoirs and lakes need water.
When there's wind we sail. When ther's not we paddle and Party! Lakes Bay in West Atlantic City, NJ is warm shallow (2-8ft deep) water to sail, windsurf, kite or paddle. We have the whole bay to ourselves without motorboat traffic.
Weekend of June 24-25, 2017, a small gathering is planned over the launching of a fleet of 3 Rooster Class Sailboats , with 1 being Chritianed in it's first launch.
Summer Sailstice , 2017 also coincides with our 38th wedding anniversary! Our plan is to gather with our nephew from TX. with our own Rooster Class Sailboat , the Sarah, and his 2 Roosters, the Gabrielle, and the most recently finished Camille.
On June 23rd, we will be going out on Lake Ontario to watch the start of the Scotch Bonnett race with fellow Genesee Yacht Club friends.
On June 24th we are planning on taking a non-sailing couple out for an evening sail and watch the sunset.
My husband and I will be sailing our Gemini catamaran in Lake Erie. We like to sail to South Bass Island and pick up a mooring ball. It will be so easy this year with the mooring hook I won last year. It's snowing in Ohio today, but Summer Sailstice is right around the corner.
