"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."

Summer Sailstice in Atwood Lake, Ohio

Robert Kansa reports they are gathering a group to celebrate sailing on Atwood Lake in Ohio.   A couple of years back Robert made the trek from Ohio to Maryland to celebrate Summer Sailstice in saltwater (http://www.summersailstice.com/content2.php?id=105),  but this year it's a freshwater Sailstice and a three day weekend.

Robert reports:

Atwood Lake is a perfect sailing lake, with boats there ranging from sunfish, to 32 sloops.  There's a 25 hp limit so the lake belongs to the sailors!

The lake resort includes great accommodations and awesome campgrounds. The facilities are well kept, the boat launches are excellent. The lake has a resort on it as well as 2 very good marinas. A first class indoor-outdoor restaurant always has a band going at the one marina. The campgrounds have cabins to rent as well if you wish.  We will be there for at least 3 days having bonfires, camping and of course MUCH sailing!

We are expecting a dozen people, maybe as many boats and thats only our group. The lake has regattas and it is common to see 50 (usually more) sailboats on it any weekend anyways

Contact Robert and Mary Kansa at wefrolick@aol.com for any information or visit  http://www.mwcdlakes.com/atwood.htm for direct information on the lake and reservations, etc.
