ANNAPOLIS, Md. ¬- If you ever thought about learning to sail, or wanted to improve your skills operating something larger than a Sunfish, now's the time.
Sunsail, the leading provider of yacht charter and water sport sailing vacations worldwide, is teaming up with the American Sailing Association (ASA)
during Summer Sailstice for the return of "American Sailing Week," June 16 to June 23, 2006, at the Sunsail Colonna Sailing Resort in Antigua.
The event is geared to all levels of sailors from novice to expert and includes a seven-night stay, expert sailing instruction, unlimited use of all sailing and water sport equipment, including two Beneteau 473 premier charter yachts, all meals, a Sunday evening
Summer Sailstice barbeque, resort activities, hotel transfers, and more at a package price of $890, plus a $39 membership in the ASA. This is half of what you might otherwise expect to pay. In fact, sailing instruction alone normally costs more than this deal's approximately $127 p.p./day cost. Space is limited; minimum two people per room. For more details on the package see
www.asa.com; to learn more about the Sunsail Colonna resort, log onto

"American Sailing Week 2006" activities include casual day sails, afternoon fun races, and comprehensive clinics on small boats and spinnakers. Classes will be held at Sunsail's award-winning Colonna Sailing Resort, situated on the northern tip of Antigua in Hodges Bay. The Colonna includes waterfront facilities, private beaches, and free award-winning all-day Kids' Club childcare. Visitors enjoy spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea from every room and some villas. The club's facilities offer unlimited sailing, an on-site PADI dive shop, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, massage facilities, volleyball and tennis courts, and mountain biking.
American Sailing Week is also timed to coincide with Summer Sailstice, a global sailing holiday celebrated on the solstice and the longest sailing days of the year. Sailing Week participants are encouraged to sign up at http://www.summersailstice.com// and become eligible to win one of hundreds of prizes donated by sailing companies. It's all part of the fun when you join us in Antigua for American Sailing Week and Summer Sailstice. For registered Summer Sailstice participants, Sunsail will be offering a $100 certificate* good for all charters at any of the Sunsail Worldwide Bases and a free copy of Gary Jobson's "Paradise Found: Sailing the BVI" DVD to all participants sending a picture and a few words about their ASA Summer Sailstice 2006 sail to: usaescape@sunsail.com.
