New Jersey Coast Daysail
Headed to Atlantic City? Follow the example of the Somers Point Yacht Club of Ocean City, New Jersey, and travel under sail. SPYC is planning a day sail along the New Jersey coast for its members. They’ll start their day at 0900, leaving from Great Egg Harbor. Their destination is the Flying Cloud, a waterfront café in the Absecom Channel known for its fresh seafood. After a SPYC-sponsored lunch they’ll return to Ocean City for end-of-day festivities. Some of the boats that have made the sail on previous years are SeaRenity, Windsong, Solitude, Blue Heaven and Pterodactyl.
The Somers Point Yacht Club Sailstice daysail is for members only, but let them inspire you to get out there on the solstice and sail to a favorite lunch spot. Make it a picnic in a favorite quiet inlet, a juicy burger at a good dockside greasy spoon, or indulge yourself at that swanky new waterfront restaurant you’ve been eying. It’s Summer Sailstice—it only comes once a year, and it’s worth celebrating!
