Summer Sailstice - Sail locally, celebrate globally

"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."

Seattle, WA - Singles Seek Summer Sailstice Soulmates

Or is that summer solstice sailmates? Well, in either case, Seattle singles should head on over to celebrate Summer Sailstice with the Seattle Singles Yacht Club. From May through October, the club will hold two dances a month, on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Dance to the music of live bands or DJs on one of the best wooden dance floors Seattle has to offer! Celebrate Summer Sailstice early at the club’s June 13 (2nd Monday) dance.

SSYC meets every Monday evening (except on holidays) at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club near West Marine. Casual members pay $7.00 at the door for entry. The doors open at 7 p.m., and the general meeting and sign ups for FREE boating begin at 7:30 p.m. On regular meeting nights one of the club skippers, Michael Brough, teaches a sailing class after the signups. In the lounge refreshments are served for donations, and the drinks are inexpensive. On dance nights, the dance begins after the general meeting.

Seattle Singles Yacht Club claims to take more people out on the water than any other yacht club in the world.  Some of their Super Skippers have taken out more than 600 people a year!  The club has more than 50 skippers with boats ranging from 19' to 56'.  The boating is always free but attendance at a Monday night meeting is required to sign up. SSYC is a place where skippers find crew, and people who want to become crew find boats to crew on. All levels are welcome, from experienced boat owners, novice crew eager to learn, and every skill level in between. People learn how to go sailing and do safe boating on the waters of Washington. Some have even gone off to Mexico, Hawaii and parts unknown.

The camaraderie at SSYC is great! Think about the concept of drawing together singles from all walks of life who have a sense of adventure. Many are there for the boating, the dancing, making new social contacts or just getting out of the house. Drop your channel changers, leave the mowing behind, and join the SSYC for a fun-packed event every Monday night year 'round. The only time SSYC doesn’t have a meeting is on federal holidays. And about the only time they aren't boating is if there are Coast Guard warnings!  Their skippers are experienced, fun, and awesome at teaching novices how to boat safely.  For more information, see the Seattle Singles Yacht Club website at www.ssyc.com.
