Summer Sailstice - Sail locally, celebrate globally

"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."

From the North East - Celebrating Summer Sailstice in Nova Scotia

The Points East Fundy Flotilla should be heading east along the south shore of Nova Scotia on June 21.

In the morning the crews of the 21 boats in the flotilla will be having their coffee and whatever else the skippers cook up off of lovely Carter's Beach at Port Mouton (pronounced Matoon, and yes it means mutton).

That evening the boats will be in Mahone Bay, a well-protected bay that is well known to American boaters. There's a regular ex-pat community in Chester, at the eastern end of the bay.

In this year's flotilla, we have 13 sailboats, ranging in size from a 27-foot Cape Dory to a 48-foot C&C; and 8 powerboats, ranging in size from a 28-foot Cape Dory to a 48-foot Krogen.
