Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club will hosting its annual summer regatta on June 21 and 22
Celebrating Summer Sailstice is becoming part of the program for the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club in British Columbia, Canada. Located near Sidney on Vancouver Island, the Annual SNSYC Regatta has a reputation for challenging races on inland tidal waters and the very best of music, food and social activities.
Last year the local Catalina 30 fleet (fleet 37 of International Catalina Organization) from Sidney, BC, took a week to celebrate Summer Sailstice with a one week group cruise aboard the Celebrity Cruise ship from Vancouver to Alaska and on their return, had a Sailstice group party on June 21 in Wrangell.
This year, the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club will be hosting its annual summer regatta June 21 and 22, 2003. All entrants are encouraged to sign up at www.summersailstice.com to acknowledge their participation in Summer Sailstice 2003.
Races will be held June 21 and 22. Late registration and no-host reception evening will take place on June 20, a BBQ dinner and live band dance on June 21, with draw prizes and trophy presentations on June 22.
Entries are open to all classes of yachts. Division splits will be finalized dependent on the number of entries. Expect two PHRF(NW) flying sails Divisions (A & B), one PHRF(NW) non flying sails Division (C) and one non flying sails (non PHRF) division (D).
If there is sufficient interest, there may be long distance courses for a Cruising division.
Registration forms and additional information are posted on the Club web site: www.snsyc.ca
The registration fee is $45 (Cdn$) and includes one meal ticket for Saturday evening steak BBQ. All entries received on or by 14 Jun '03 will be eligible for a special prize draw.
