Santa Monica Windjammers hosts event in Southern California

Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club, located in Marina del Rey, California, will incorporate the Summer Sailstace with one of our regular cruises scheduled for that week-end. The cruise is to The Isthmus at Catalina Island and has been known here to fore as "The Demarrera Cruise" acknowledging the rum of the same name. We typically begin with an adult beverage party on one, or more, of the boats on Friday afternoon. On Saturday the plan is for "Dinghy Bingo" and a predicted log race in dinghies in the harbor, Saturday evening we go ashore to barbecue and prepare the Demarrera punch, which is served hot. Baseball and/or horseshoes follow with music and dancing as the sun sets. Sunday is coffee and rolls on the beach before departing and a sail race home. There is typically a nominal charge to handle the rental of the barbecue space and the cost of the rum punch.
