The Geechee Sailing Club is hosting a Summer Sailstice event in Savannah, Georgia
Clean sandy beaches, summertime, Savannah sailing, good friends,
grass skirts and 'spirited' beach party sounds like a combination
that would be hard to beat for Summer Sailstice.
On June 19, we will have an easy-going race down the Wilmington River from Green "27" to Williamson Island Beach for fun and fellowship. Start will be around 1100 to ensure arriving at the beach by 1400 (we'll have an outgoing tide). The actual finish is on shore so start recruiting people to scramble over the rail in pursuit of victory. Once at the beach, we hope to have all of our club members enjoy a beach clean-up and spirited beach party. There is no race back so everyone is on their own for the return trip. This event is being held in conjunction with a Clean Coast beach sweep and the Summer Sailstice. We invite non-members and powerboaters for the beachside festivities.
