Summer Sailstice 2002 Registrations From Maine to New Zealand

With just over three weeks to the first day of summer and the longest sailing day of the year, Summer Sailstice has sign-ups from all over the U.S. and Canada, and from as far away as New Zealand.

Thomas Waters, aboard the schooner Windborne, will be cruising the Bay of Islands, New Zealand and while it's hardly summer down under on June 21, the spirit of the Northern Hemisphere solstice will be with Windborne.

Locations currently registered at www.summersailstice.com include Alameda, San Francisco, Sausalito, Tiburon, Berkeley, Richmond, Laguna Beach, Redondo Beach, Vallejo, Dana Point, all in California; Wickford, Rhode Island; Lake Sydney in Lanier, Georgia; West Palm Beach, Florida; Bellingham, Washington; Phoenix, Arizona; Redfish Lake, Idaho; Cape Elizabeth and Cousins Island, both in Maine; Hood River, Oregon and Sidney, British Columbia.

Summer Sailstice is all about getting out on the water on June 21 and flying a sail. We have a range of yachts covered this year, from Lasers to a Formosa Cutter 44 to an Antrim 27.

Www.summersailstice.com is designed so people can find crew, a boat to crew on, announce their individual participation or offer to host a gathering or raft up.
