There's just four weeks left until Summer Sailstice 2004
Already over 800 sailors from 44 states, five Canadian Provinces and several countries are signed up to sail and have a chance to win prizes donated for the fourth annual Summer Sailstice.
Here's ten great reasons for you to join them on the weekend of June 19/20:
- Just by signing up and going sailing on the weekend of June 19/20 you're eligible to win a BVI Moorings charter, a Hunter Xcite sailboat, a $500 shopping spree from West Marine, a 'Fast Track to Cruising Course' from Offshore sailing plus over 100 other prizes from marine businesses. Check 'Prizes' and sign up to sail and win anywhere you sail at: www.summersailstice.com
- June 19/20 are the longest sailing days of the year, you should be planning to go sailing anyway
- Post your plans and invite your friends - by letting everyone know where, when and how you're celebrating sailing you'll help create new sailing holiday traditions.
- Sunday the 20th is Father's Day, where else would he rather be on the first day of summer?
- You don't have to bake a turkey, wrap presents, dress in green, hide eggs, march in a parade - it's a new holiday so you're free to develop your own creative traditions.
- Because 20 years from now when all sailors get Summer Sailstice off from work you'll remember how you helped get it all started.
- Because all the clouds and rain will be in the Southern Hemisphere that day and sailors in the Northern Hemisphere will have 24 hours of sunshine!
- Everyone needs a deadline. If you don't have your boat ready for summer sailing by the solstice you've already missed too much of the sailing season
- They say 'the meek shall inheret the earth, the brave get the oceans'. Be brave, sign up and go sailing.
- Did we mention sailing, friends, parties, prizes - do you really need an excuse to go sailing on the longest day of the year?
Just sign up, sail and celebrate at www.summersailstice.com
After signing up forward this to the rest of your class, club or crew.
