Rick Buckman, shown here sailing his Catalina 30, Blue Bayou, out of North Carolina, is one of our recent lucky Summer Sailstice prize winners. Rick’s name came up in the April drawing for the Handle Holster, a convenient little container designed to help keep your winch handles close at hand.
This mesh holster solves the ever-frustrating problem that there never seems to be a winch handle exactly where you need it on a sailboat. The Handle Holster is a pouch with a stay-open top and and belt with a quick-release buckle. The belt can wrapped around a mast, handrail, winch or a crewmembers for quick access to winch handles. The mesh holster and belt are also designed to dry quickly after getting wet.
Since receiving the holster, Rick has had a chance to use it for holding quite a few items on his boat. “As a matter of fact,” he says, “it will hold many small things that roll around cockpit storage areas. It hangs from the winch on the cabin roof and also from the steering pedestal. It will also hold 1.5 beers.”
Thanks to Schockles for donating this prize to Summer Sailstice. Learn more about the Handle Holster and Schockles’ other sailing products at http://www.shockles.com/.
