American Sailing Association (ASA) announces its Summer Sailstice 2005 Sailing Photography Contest. When you’re out there sailing and celebrating, capture those special moments of summer on the water, and get rewarded for your efforts! Prizes will be awarded for the best photos to capture the spirit of sailing and of Summer Sailstice. Sharp sailors and “sharpshooters” have the opportunity to win the following prizes:
1st Prize:
- $300 credit good at an ASA school or ASA-affiliated charter company f
or sailing lessons or boat charter.
- Complete self-study coastal navigation course with DVD
- Free two-year membership in the American Sailing Association
2nd Prize:
- $100 credit good at an ASA school or ASA-affiliated charter company for sailing lessons or boat charter
- Free two-year membership in the American Sailing Association
3rd Prize:
-ASA gear bag with ASA t-shirt, hat and sailing gloves
- Free one-year membership in the American Sailing Association
Winning photos will be published in the Fall 2005 edition of the
American Sailing Journal.
Contest Rules and Guidelines:
ASA will be selecting three winning photos. To be eligible, photos must be taken between June 17th and June 22nd of this year. (To encourage honestly in this respect, our judges will give priority to photos containing signage with "Summer Sailstice 2005" somwehere in the picture.) The only requirement is that the photos must show one or more subjects sailing a boat in the water.
Entries must arrive at ASA by June 30, 2005. Each individual entrant may submit a maximum of 3 images, digital only—TIFF or JPEG. For initial submission, the file should be no larger than 1 MB. Finalists will be required to submit high-resolution cmyk files capable of being in the size of 8”x10".
