Summer Sailstice has passed and summer sailing is underway around the Northern Hemisphere. We're tallying up the last minute sign-ups to do the final prize drawing for the 2005 Summer Sailstice winners. We'll be awarding a charter from the Moorings, a sailing dinghy from Hunter plus the last of five $200 gift certificates from West Marine.
As promised there was beautiful weather for Summer Sailstice - at least in many locations around the country. Menantic Yacht Club on Shelter Island had a beautiful day as did sunny San Carlos Mexico. The Chicago NOOD regatta had perfect weather for it's hundreds of boats and sailors. Even Osaka Japan had a great weekend of sailing after last year's Summer Sailstice was terminated with a high-powered cyclone.
From San Francisco Bay in California to Casco Bay in Maine and Bradford Beach, Milwaukee sailors all across North America managed to get out for a sail, a regatta and enjoyed the first days of summer under sail. In the meantime the 'prize administration team' will be reaching into the digital bucket to pull the names of winner. Of course then we have to remember, where did we put all those B & G hats and that gift certificate from Landfall Navigation? Don't worry, we'll dig it all up and get prizes out as soon as possible so you, hopefully, can enjoy them for this sailing season.
