Summer Sailstice - Sail locally, celebrate globally

"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."
~Susan Altman
Shelter Island, NY - The Bethges Family and Menantic Yacht Club

The Bethges family and the Menantic Yacht Club enjoyed Summer Sailstice with a Father's Day Sunfish race on Sunday, July 19th. Attended by local Sunfish sailors and three generations of Bethges the regatta was held in beautiful, sunny breezes on West Neck Harbor on the South side of Shelter Island. Gentle breezes, good friends and family, sunny, blue skies and a terrific fleet of sailing dinghies is what sailing and Summer Sailstice is all about.

If you've got a Sunfish and are looking for a great way to celebrate sailing plan on heading to West Neck Harbor for Father's day in 2006. It's an ideal location and a terrific gathering for a celebration of the simple pleasures of family and sailing.
