Summer 'Sailstice' celebrated in Orange Beach (AL)

One of the best things about Summer Sailstice is seeing community sailing programs who manage to get some publicity through their Summer Sailstice celebrations.  We're happy to see stories such as the one below carried in Press Register in Orang Beach Floriday.  Here's the story of celebrating sailing in Alabama:

ORANGE BEACH, Alabama -- The Orange Beach Wind & Water Learning Center celebrated the worldwide Summer Sailstice event on June 22 by partnering with the Wild Hearts catamaran and crew.

Founded in 2001, Summer Sailstice is the global sailing holiday celebrated on the weekend closest to the summer solstice, connecting the global sailing community in a multifaceted, multi-location sailing holiday that regularly unites more than 19,000 sailors each year.

Don't we all wish more sailing programs could get more coverage in their local papers.  In addition they also got coverage in the 'Mullet Wrapper'
