What better way to celebrate sailing then with the launch of a recently build classic boat? Animikie, a 23’ Mackinac Boat built by the Alpena Boat Builders, conducted its maiden voyage and sea trials on June 21st on Thunder Bay in Lake Huron. Build at the Thunder Bay Community Boatbuilding Program she was launched and sailed on Summer Sailstice. The first of many sails and sailing celebrations.
