Loick Peyron Joins for his Third Celebration of Sailstice

Loick Peyron, the multi-faceted, multi-talented, multiple winner of all things multihull, has once again joined sailors around the world for the Summer Sailstice celebration of sail. Says Loick, ‘‘I’m very happy to be a part of Summer Sailstice again this year, we’re busy at the Artemis base in Alameda preparing the new big blue baby 72 for training. The Solstice is a major celebration in Sweden and the atmosphere for the team over the weekend will be great. See you soon on SF Bay."

For Sailstice, in 2011, Loick sailed in the Bol d’Or on Lake Geneva on Saturday, and then flew to the coast of France to sail in the Saint Nazaire-Saint Malo. The next fall he set off on a record smashing pace Jules Verne Trophy and then returned to inshore multihulls again for Summer Sailstice 2012 aboard AC45s for the America’s Cup World Series in Newport, RI. So what’s up for Loick on Summer Sailstice 2013? Obviously busy with Team Artemis, Loick may be on the water practicing on the team’s AC45 or just slipping in a sail on San Francisco Bay.

Loick’s world-renowned multihull racing skills will certainly bring extra speed, flash and perhaps victory to the Artemis America’s Cup campaign. In the meantime, Summer Sailstice is thrilled to have such an accomplished sailor (Loick has multiple circumnavigations, literally dozens of trans-Atlantics and a warehouse full of record-setting trophies) to enjoy and recognize together the connection that Summer Sailstice brings to sailors around the world.
