First Tales of Summer Sailstice 2014!

It's not over yet as sailors continue to sail and celebrate on Summer Sailstice weekend but we've already received some great photos of Summer Sailstice events from around the world.  The first come from Europe, since being 8-10 hours closer to the East they're celebrating far ahead of those of us on the West Coast of the US.

Clipper Round the World Race Atlantic Crossing Race winner Derry-Londonderry captures a 'shot in the dark' on Summer Saisltice 2014.  They battled light airs at the finish to beat the homeport curse to win the leg into Derry-Londonderry.

Skipper Vicky Ellis and the international crew aboard 'Switzerland' pause for a mid-Atlantic 'still shot' as they search for breeze on their way to the finish of the Clipper Round the World Race.

Max Fletcher and Lynnie Bruce finished phase one of an Atlantic crossing aboard their Nordic 40 'Juanona'  landing to celebrate sailing and a passage in Flores, Azores.

Over in Croatia Michael and Lisa Rossi found a Laser to sail on Summer Sailstice.  Not always easy but always worth it!

Gosling's Rum supplied some of the fun at Encinal Yacht Club celebration in Alameda, CA

This sailboat was built in one day, launched and race to cheering crowds!

You never know what's going to come up when you go out to celebrate sailing.  This photo taken by David Holmes with a group of cruisers called 'Cruisers Gone Wild' from the Elkhorn Yacht Club. It was taken 2miles from Moss Landing Harbor in Monterey Bay celebrating Summer Sailstice.

Torresen Marine had a terrific celebration taking folks out sailing and getting it in the local news.

Send in your photos and stories of Summer Sailstice - we'll be posting them in Sailstice Tales for 2014.
