Ever Sailed a Sunfish?

Is there a sailor anywhere who's never sailed a Sunfish?  It seems like just about every sailor has at least once.  Amongst the many early, popular, small fiberglass boats introduced in the 50s and 60s the Sunfish remains as one of the brightest success stories.  Introduced in 1952 and still sailing strong today there are many signed up for Summer Sailstice and a few Sunfish events currently posted:

And certainly more Sunfish out sailing on Summer Sailstice and eligible for prizes from the prize list!  But there have been well over 250,000 Sunfish build in that time so many more are out there and able to sail.  Can you help us find them?  Shouldn't they all be out, signed up and sailing 'together' wherever they are?

The simple pleasure of sailing a Sunfish - on your own or on the race course has been part of the sailing life of literally millions!

The Sunfish was inducted into The American Sailboat Hall of Fame in 1995 for being "the most popular fiberglass boat ever designed, with a quarter million sold worldwide".  If you've got one around that hasn't seen the water in a while or you've got a gleaming, fresh-from-the-factory Sunfish Summer Sailstice is the ideal time to get out on the water with your sisterships everywhere.
