Dreaming Of An Island Of Your Own?

Ever dreamt of an island of your own? When you google that occasional fantasy you’re presented multi-million dollar island properties around the world. It’s nice to dream.

But Hobie has another alternative, the Hobie Island, a combination sailing, paddling, pedaling, kayak, trimaran that just about everyone can own. It’s much more affordable and possibly a lot more fun.

Simplicity - the Hobie way.

The passing of Hobie Alter earlier this year reminded us all of how his vision altered the sailing worldv and how so many were inspired by not just the Hobie cat but the Hobie lifestyle. The addition of some Hobie Island events on the Sailstice site shows a new generation and style of Hobie sailing is having a similar grass-roots effect on current and newly inspired sailor.

There’s nothing better than adventures in small boats and the Hobie Island is bringing them to thousands of new people. On San Francisco Bay many members of the Northern California Kayak Anglers head out to sail and fish aboard their Hobie Islands. In Southern California Hobie Islands have made the 25 mile voyage from the mainland to camp out on Catalina Island.

The Hobie Island is a reminder to many who have forgotten the simple pleasures of sailing that began in small boats that, while ‘size matters’, sometimes smaller is better and certainly accessible to many more people. Whatever you’re sailing on Summer Sailstice we think if you ‘have a Hobie day’ you’ll be having a very good one!

Relax and check out a chilled out Hobie adventure to Catalina island.
