Another Way To Sail Summer Sailstice?

Another Way To Sail Summer Sailstice?

'What if I don't have a boat?'  That's a question we often hear when we're describing the Summer Sailstice sailing celebration.  Because, as much as it is about celebrating, the thing we encourage most is getting on a boat and hoisting some sails.  If you don't have a boat that may seem like an insurmountable obstacle.  It's not.  The actual truth is that there are always far more sailors than boats because most boats require more than one crew so really most sailors don't own boats - they crew on boats.

Beyond crewing there's the new world of the 'share economy' where underutilized assets (think sailboats!) are shared by owners with those who are looking for a way to sail.  If you don't know how to sail you'll first need to find a friend who can but, once you do, you'll find endless options to find a boat available online.  We just found 'Smoke and Roses', a Leopard 47 posted on the Summer Sailstice site which says they're planning to 'support sailing by going sailing'.  We contacted owner Agnes Long to see what she had to say about sailing and she said, for her, '"Once you are out on the water time just stands still. It's like being in another world and you are freed from all the land, space, activity, noise, and static."  Sounds right to us!  'Smoke and Roses' is one of thousands of boats enrolled with GetMyBoat which has sailboats all over the world available for you to sail.  Chicago, Croatia, California - just about anywhere anyone would want to sail.

This Bavaria 30 is available in Croatia.

If you're already a sailor, find a crew, visit GetMyBoat and then sign up for Summer Sailstice - you'll then have everthing you need for a perfect celebration of sailing.  If you're not a sailor, find one (there's more around than you think) and get back to GetMyBoat.  You can make waves on June 20, 2015 by booking one of GetMyBoat's 29,000 boats in 135 countries to celebrate Summer Sailstice and a lifestyle free life's static. It's a perfect answer to that question, 'What if I don't have a boat?'
