America's Cup joins Summer Sailstice Celebration in Alameda

The America's Cup will be on display at Summer Sailstice in Alameda from noon to 3pm for Summer Sailstice, Saturday, June 22!  In addition, Golden Gate Yacht Club Vice Commodore and spokesperson, Tom Ehman, will give an insiders look at the 2013 America's Cup competition at 2pm.  Free entry and free parking.  Directions 

San Francisco Bay has been home to 13 Summer Sailstice celebrations and, in 2013, is also home to the America's Cup!  The Bay is no stranger to world-class sailors and sailing  but, with the Cup competition ready to get underway, 2013 promises to be a spectacular year.  Beyond the Cup and competition the Bay Area is also home to numerous sailing programs, recreational cruising destinations plus thousands of sailors and sailboats who regularly take advantage of the steady breezes and dramatic scenery which inspires everyone's addictive sailing passions.

The Summer Sailstice celebration at the Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda gives Bay Area residents a unique opportunity to check out the sailing scene, try a ride on a sailboat, introduce kids to a successful and active junior sailing program and simply enjoy a day by the Bay.  Come take a sail, enjoy daylong entertainment and displays or just take some time 'Sittin on the dock of the Bay'.
